An exciting step into 10th-century
The Viking Museum in Stockholm takes you back in time to the Viking era through informative and interactive exhibits with the help of artifacts and reconstructions. You can make your way through the exhibit on your own, with the help of an audio guide or join hourly guided tours. Along the way you’ll learn all about the Vikings, how they lived, what they ate, and what made them infamous seafarers.
The Viking Museum exhibit includes multiple historical artifacts on loan from the Swedish History Museum, as well as a life-size Viking whose look is based on DNA from bones preserved at the Sigtuna Museum. Here, you will get a real impression of what life was like for the Vikings, from the bloody battles they fought to their vicious plundering and peaceful farm life and Norse mythology.
The museum’s thrilling ride through Viking times, Ragnfrid’s Saga, takes you on an exciting adventure where you follow the Viking Harald on a journey through 10th-century Europe. The story begins at Frösala farm, where Harald and his wife Ragnfrid live together with their daughter Sigrid. Great for the kids and history lesson for all
Viking museum interesting to see and explore, not a big museum so you can easily do in an hour, not far from Vasa Musuem best to do both on same day. tour guide good and explained the history of the Vikings, lots of artifacts and interactive gadgets to keep the kids happy and occupied. Glad I visited as it wasn't on my list of things to do in Stockholm.

Excellent authentic museum, underrated
This museum consists of both exhibition and adventure ride (ride is about a viking that went from Swedish soil to fight in Constantinople), both are amazing and authentic. There is a guided tour once per hour and lasts around 30-40 minutes, there can be heard many interesting historic facts about viking culture. Adventure ride in the cellar takes about 11 minutes and ends with an epic viking music theme. Everyone can take a picture with a shield, spear and helmet in the first room around the globe as a real viking. On the end, there are shop and restaurant where mead is served. Everyone who loves viking culture or is interested in it, will find this museum really amazing as this is not only tradition in this Scandinavian part of the world, it is a way of life.

Interesting museum with diorama ride
The Viking Museum has good displays and good English signage. There is a guide in Viking costume. The diorama ride which tells of the life in a Viking family was interesting.

Surprisingly good!
This was surprisingly good. There was a lot of good information and actors going around. To end the museum, there was a story-telling ride about the life of a Viking family. Worth the visit if you have time.

Next to Vasa Museum and Worth a Visit if you are interested in Vikings
We had a two week vacation through Scandinavia. This was the only real Viking Museum we saw and found it very useful to understand Viking history, culture and impact in Europe. It was a complete history and well supported with explanations and actual artifacts. A guide went through our visit through the exhibits and explained things to an level not excessive but sufficient. There is a "ride" at the end through exhibits as you find in amusement parks or visitors centers, taking you from display to display. A nice ending to the visit. The museum shop deserves a mention, we generally don't buy things at them but found several things there that we fancied. The museum staff from entry to departure are very helpful and welcoming. If you visit Vasa, suggest you go next door to this one too.

unique experience
The first museum that we visited on the island . The staff wears period clothes. There are a lot of Viking items on display and there is a ride which takes you through the journey of a Viking. The ride was a nice surprise and it was the best part of the visit. The museum has also a nice restaurant and a shop.

Great experience on a school trip.
We went to visit the museum during a school trip with 56 teenagers and they all loved their expérience. Thé two guides were great and made them discover the vikings' life. And the train to finish the tour is really well done and interesting.

Interesting
A beautiful museum with a great history of the Vikings! Search for the guided tours inside in order to learn more about them! The highlight was the train tour at the end of the museum!

Interesting little museum with a fun ride
The main part of the museum was fairly interesting, though we wandered through it quite quickly. Thought the ride brought what it was like to be a Viking to life a little bit, by providing a story. It might not be for everyone but we enjoyed it and left with a better understanding of Viking life.

Lovely visit.
Great museum with artifacts and context. The museum is close to the Vasa museum so we were able to visit both. They have real axes, coins and swords. They also have a reconstruction of a Viking person who was unearthed some years ago.

Fun for kids
This would be a fun museum for families snd kids. Lots of fun displays and artifacts. I would have liked more history content other than the one timeline board, but we certainly got a good idea of how the Vikings lived and loved.

Gone a viking
The staff were extremely helpful. The tour guide was really insightful and gave some really good history of the vikings. The museum itself was really good as was the little ride at the end. The food in the restaurant was good

Great fun Viking tour
Loved this very informative Viking museum. The actual museum is small compared to others, but packed with lots of information and interactive experiences. A lot of negative comments say it’s overpriced but I disagree. It’s a well put together and maintained exhibition that deserves what it asks. We managed to catch the English’s tour which, I admit, did drag on so we wondered off and watched the videos instead. Staff were friendly and helpful. The ride at the end was a cool touch as well.

History
It was a great and informative museum with a cool ride at the end that takes you on a journey through time. Staff were great. Great look into the Vikings lives.

Nice museum
Very nice place and location with an excellent restaurant that seems like a 5 stars restaurant rather than museum food. Unfortunately, a little bit small, hence the reason of not giving the maximum of points

Swedish secret
The museum is not big. What puzzled me was that the guide didn’t say anything about Kievan Rus, I’m not even talking about Bulgaria on the Volga. The text that mentioned both was only on one place. This is very strange, because the vikings from Sweden sailed to the east (the Danish ones to England and Normandy, and the Norwegian ones to Scotland, Greenland and Ireland). I was shocked. Every other country on the place of Sweden will be very proud... They gave the initial statehood of the Kievian Rus and its successor states - Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. I have no words.

Weekend at Stockholm
We were in Stockholm that day, and we wanted to visit the Viking museum, at the start the staff welcomed us very nicely, the museum is interesting, a bit of history, etc. Particular attention is paid to the "roller coster" who tells the story while riding. I recommend it to everyone ;)

Good but not brilliant
Situated near the Vasa museum, the Viking museum provides a history of the Vikings, concentrating on those from Sweden. There are talks in several languages with those giving the tour in Viking clothes. There is a good interactive ride in the basement. Overall good but not brilliant

Esperienza stupenda
Esperienza unica, personale davvero molto educato e diaponibile.
