With this combi ticket you can discover the many treasures and hidden gems in Stockholm and visit the Royal Armoury, right next to the Royal Palace. The RED Sightseeing bus has two stops near the Royal Armoury, which makes it incredibly easy to visit the museum while you are exploring the city. But the bus will also bring you to many other parts of the city, including Södermalm, Djurgården, Norrmalm, Vasastan and Östermalm.
At the Royal Armoury you’ll find both permanent and temporary exhibitions. The collection of the museum consists of pieces that have been worn or used by the Swedish royal family, including ceremonial equipment, weapons and costumes. There are pieces that are 500 years old but also pieces from current members of the royal family.
The main exhibition at the museum explores Swedish history and its connection to the monarchy. In the vaults of the museum stand 5 beautiful historic horse carriages. And the special Children’s Armoury section let’s kids actively explore the past with costumes, as well as a play, read and draw area.
RED Sightseeing’s hop on hop off buses take you all over Stockholm so that you can spend time in those parts of the city that you want to see. The Royal Armoury sits on Gamla Stan, which is the Old Town of Stockholm and holds many other treasures to explore. The many other bus stops are all located near a sight, attraction or museum in the city that is worth visiting.
Of course, it is also possible to just stay on the bus for a full tour of the city. Along the way you can listen to an audio guide to learn more about the city and make use of free Wi-Fi so that you can easily share your experiences with friends and family at home, and check the RED Sightseeing app. The app shows you exactly where all the stops are, as well as the location of the buses on the road, and up to date information in case there are any road blocks.

This museum is one I wouldn't pay to miss. It is filled with so many artifacts it's astounding, and the story told through them is just as good. Because it closes a little later than the Tre Kroner museum, I went here after touring the palace. I ended up saving the best museum for last (incidentally) and learned the most from this stop. The museum is organized as a row of several rooms progressing through different periods of Swedish royalty. Each section has incredible artifacts, from suits of armor and swords to royal vestments. The amount of history here was just astounding, and I also learned a ton about Swedish history- something that was (literally and figuratively) quite foreign to me. There are small tablets (in Swedish and English) you can take out of a cupboard that describes the items present in the display cases, which was a nice touch. This part of the museum already made it worth the money. But, there was also more to be uncovered. The basement holds the royal carriages. These go from children's carriages, all the way to full-sized carriages that needed 8 horses to pull them. Although these were interesting, it obviously did not take as much time to go through this section. It housed incredible works of art, but there was only so much time you could spend analyzing the building materials and reading the information. All in all, an incredible museum whether you're interested in history or not. At the very least, a great place to take kids who like knights in shining armor, and at the very most a place to deepen your knowledge about Europe.

Not part of the Palace ticket but so worth a look. If you have a Palace ticket you will get a 50% discount on entrance here. On entry you are immediately in awe of the power of the exhibits, absolutely beautiful man and horse armour. As you work through this treasure trove of antiquity you can’t help but think how forward thinking those from 3 centuries ago were in saving so many priceless pieces. For some it’s the Palace for me it’s the Vasa Ship & the Armoury.

This is an excellent museum - it was our next favourite in Stockholm after the Vasa. The ornate carriages and oustanding clothing are beautifully displayed and the information is interesting and easy to read, giving some Swedish history while looking at beautiful objects. It is well worth the entry cost.

We had access to this venue as part of a combination ticket. The museum is well kept and an interesting walk through. Visit time 60 - 90 minutes.

If you're looking for something a bit more tucked away but still engaging with a flair for history, this is your place. A lot of artifacts and items related to the stories and generations of the Swedish Royal Family.

Nothing but amazing. We have had our share of museums but the delicacy and caring that has been brought to this makes a magnificent experience. Both the cellar area with the wagons as well as the historic area on the ground floor. And only because I’m thrilled 😄 I’ll look by the fact that the timeline start’s only with Gustav Vasa and no mention of the time before 😄🙏🏻

Livrustkammaren is a progressive museum, even though it deals with old armour and weapons, active on social media (fun) and many new exhibitions. We went on a guided tour, both in terms of the Livrustkammaren, but also one about Gustav III and his interest in theatre. Interesting even if the guide was a bit "superior" in his way of telling.

Following the advice of the Rick Steves guidebook, chose this museum over the Royal Palace. While no longer free as of the beginning of 2023, this museum is fascinating and a good royal synthesis easily digestible. It covers the history of the Swedish monarchy over the last 500 years using artifacts, stunning royal clothes, and gorgeous state carriages (very impressive in light of the recent publicity surrounding royal carriages at the English coronation of Charles III.) Because of special exhibits at the Royal Palace in 2023, crowds (and admission prices) made the Armory visit and its more modest admission fee a good choice instead.

Qualcuno ci spiega però i topolini d'oro presenti in ogni teca?

Museo gratuito y super recomendable!
