Kiefer: Eine Ausstellung in den Van Gogh & Stedelijk Museen
Vom 7. März bis zum 9. Juni 2025 schließen sich das Van Gogh Museum und das Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam für eine große Ausstellung über einen der bedeutendsten Künstler unserer Zeit zusammen: Anselm Kiefer. Der Titel der Ausstellung, Sag mir wo die Blumen sind, bezieht sich auf das gleichnamige Antikriegslied des amerikanischen Folksängers und Aktivisten Pete Seeger, das später in einer deutschen Version von Marlene Dietrich bekannt wurde. Der Titel bezieht sich auch auf Kiefers neues Werk mit demselben Namen, das im Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam ausgestellt wird, und auf Vincent van Goghs Sonnenblumen. Mit dieser Eintrittskarte haben Sie Zugang zum Van Gogh Museum. Im Van Gogh Museum erhalten Sie ein Armband, mit dem Sie Zugang zum Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam haben.

Wir hatten einen super symphatischen Bootsführer der viele Nebeninfos gab. War schön und informativ. 1 Stunde hat gut gereicht und empfehlenswert. Gute Karte erhalten für den Treffpunkt und pünktlich, sowie sauber.

Die Stunde waren zwar nur ca. 50 Minuten, aber die Tour war wunderschön. Unbedingt abends machen, die Atmosphäre ist unbeschreiblich!

El tour está muy bien, en cambio si ya has hecho un freetour por la ciudad recomiendo el crucero primero, te da una vista más general, mi amiga y yo al haber hecho antes el freetour volvimos a ver sitios en los que ya habíamos estado.

Amsterdam City River Cruise
The canal cruise was perfect, the captin come guide gave us headphones to listen in our own language. The riverboat was clean and tidy, easy to walk on and off, it was a nice day and we got some beautiful pictures!! A great end to a fantastic tourist holiday!!

Early evening cruise
We did the early evening cruise to see the lights of the city. Easy to get tickets by turning up and allocated the next cruise. There is an audio link that you can use, but we decided to just sit outside and watch the views. An hour cruise which was interesting and pretty.

Great information finding cruise
We had an hour cruise around the canals in Amsterdam and learnt a lot whilst doing it. We really enjoyed every second. My five year old didn’t want to get off. The captain was also very knowledgeable.

Giro dei canali in barca assolutamente da consigliare. Audioguida in italiano e Simon simpaticissimo conducente che comunque dava ulteriori informazioni in inglese. La durata è di un'ora ma ci è dispiaciuto scendere!!

La promenade sur les canaux dure une heure. Les audio guides permettent de suivre les commentaires dans différentes langues. Le long de cette promenade fluviale, nous découvrons l'histoire de la ville et des monuments "célèbres". Par contre, le confort est rudimentaire.

A fab way to see Amsterdam
We had a really lovely time on the one-hour canal cruise. Our captain was very lovely and cracked a good few jokes throughout the tour. The GPS guided tour via the headphones was a fab idea and there were so many language options available which was a really pleasant surprise. We learned so much about the history of the city and the tour even helped us to find places to visit again in further detail after the tour. The price was extremely reasonable considering the excellent experience we got, and our boat even left a little early which was nice. All in all, we would definitely recommend it!

The captian made the experience
We really enjoyed it. We show I I amsterdam cards at the ticket office ans were on a boat and on our way within 10 minutes. Our captain (Tony I believe was his name) was lovely ,cheerful and very knowledge of the area, he also had 2 traniees with him and they were also lovely. The facilties were clean. If I hadn't have had the I amsterdam card I would have still paid what the price was (which I think is reasonable).

Go with Lovers
Booked through Get Your Guide literally 20 mins before boarding. They let us join a boat that was boarding as soon as we got there, which was great, no standing around as they weren’t so busy. We took a daytime trip and glad we did. Maybe evening cruises would be better in warmer months with open boats. The boat was modern, clean and warm and no condensation at all during any part of our cruise. The headphones were included and the audio commentary was interesting. The captain also added bits and pieces of extra info which was appreciated. It was a great introduction to the canals of Amsterdam as we decided to do this trip literally an hour after arriving in Amsterdam. It helped us with our bearings and with general historical info about the city. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is that we seemed to stay on one canal, no museums seen, no Anne Frank house, nothing like that, which was a shame as lots of tourists probably visit these places afterwards. Maybe the canal boat starting from the museums area take that route? We took the one from the station. There are lots of canal boat companies, but we were more than happy with Lovers as their boats appear a lot more modern than many others we saw. I would definitely recommend the cruise and my teenage daughter said it was one of the nicest things we did when in Amsterdam.

A Great Way To See The City
Done the open boat tour during the summer. A great way to see the city and the audio guide gave plenty of information along the way. Extremely relaxing to the point I almost fell asleep half way around. Would definitely do the tour again if I’m back in Amsterdam

Quick visit to see Amsterdam
Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Although it rained, I still enjoyed the tour. The only complaint was the audio was difficult to hear at times.

Eine unglaublich gut gemachte, absolut sehenswerte Präsentation von formatsprengenden Werken des Anselm Kiefer, der früh von Van Gogh beeinflusst wurde, im Zusammenhang mit ausgewählten Bildern des Van Gogh. Die Ausstellung ist so getaktet, dass Besucher nur zu bestimmten Zeiten eingelassen werden, so ist genug Raum und Ruhe, die Bilder zu genießen. Das Thema wird im angrenzenden Staedelijk Museum fortgeführt. Gute Audioführung! Tickets früh online buchen ist eine Empfehlung.

Top-Empfehlung für den Amsterdam-Aufenthalt
Anzahl und Präsentation der Gemälde haben ebenso positiv überrascht wie die Architektur des Museums. Dass man nicht erwarten kann, sich das Museum mit ein paar wenigen Besuchern zu teilen dürfte naheliegend sein - und dass es keine Möglichkeit gäbe, kurzfristig an zurückgegebene Eintrittskarten zu kommen, ist eine Mär: Man muss nur freundlich mit den gestressten Museumsmitarbeitern reden, und es tun sich legale MIttel und Wege auf....

Museumserlebnis at it's best ...
das Museum kann mit dem "Munch" in Oslo mithalten ... drei Etagen sind dem Leben und Werk van Gogh's gewidmet. Klassische Ausstellung und Multimedia-Elemente sind enthalten (die Texte vielleicht ein bisschen old fashioned) Es gab eine Kinder-Abteilung, einen vielseitigen Museums-Shop und ein tolles Café zum ausruhen ... und ich hatte das Glück, dass aktuell eine Sonderschau zu den Impressionisten (Frankreich und der Einfluss auf die Niederländer) zu sehen war.

Modernes Museum mit tollem Shop
Als erstes: Hier muss man rechtzeitig die Tickets im Internet buchen - mit 22€ sind sie aber sicher nicht überteuert und bei uns hat das bestens funktioniert. Die teuren Angebote mit Führung und "ohne Wartezeit" kann man sich ersparen. Die Bilder und das Leben van Goghs sind im Museum gut beschrieben. Zweitens: Das Museum ist sehr populär und ist trotz Besucherrationierung gut gefüllt. Man muss sich also je nach Bild etwas "durchkämpfen". Und drittens: Der Shop hat uns ausnehmend gut gefallen - besser als derjenige nahbei ... Eine schöne Erfahrung also!

Das Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam ist sehr empfehlenswert. Man konnte sehr viele berühmte Gemälde von Van Gogh sehen und wer sich für Kunst interessiert ist hier zu 100% richtig.

Die Anzahl der Bilder hat mich überrascht
In meiner Jugend in Versailles, lange bevor diese wahnsinnigen Preise für die Bilder von Vincent van Gogh geboten wurden, hatte mich dieser Maler fasziniert. Im Pariser Louvre insbesondere „Die Kirche von Auvers“. Ich wusste, dass seine frühen Bilder meist in Brauntönen und dunkel waren. Im Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam hat mich die Anzahl der Bilder überrascht und dass er zum Schluss fast täglich ein Bild gemalt hat. Sehr sehenswerte Ausstellung! Mehr Besucher sind aber nicht sinnvoll.

Excellent museum
Visited with my husband on our 1st afternoon in Amsterdam, Sun 6th April at 2pm, we'd booked our tickets a few weeks beforehand through Easyjet, our holiday provider, through a company called Musement. We only had to queue a short time & were pleased they let us straight in although we were about half an hour early ! It said that the tickets for that day were sold out so I recommend always booking them well in advance to ensure you can get in. The museum is well laid out, each floor displays Van Gogh's paintings at each stage of his life together with paintings of other artists that influenced him at that time & his life story in segments. You can hire audio guides but we didn't bother, we just wanted to enjoy his paintings ourselves. It was wonderful to see the paintings of Sunflowers, Irises, the Bedroom at Arles, various self- portraits, Almond Blossoms etc so close up. Yes it was busy but not enough to put us off. While visiting this museum you are near the Rijksmuseum, we only visited the cute garden there with playful fountains & a row of food & souvenir stalls just past, we had a delicious hot waffle with cream sat outside in the sun ! A special experience to see so many Van Gogh paintings in 1 place.

Van Gogh
Visited the museum as part of our holiday in Amsterdam. I’m not massively into my art but it was an interesting experience. I’d recommend the audio guide and there are different tours you can select. Lucky enough to see one of the versions of the Sunflowers painting. We got the extra exhibit included in our ticket which is based in the museum next door. Can’t seem to opt out of this so it does increase the price. If you love the work of Van Gogh, you’ll love this.

Wonderful Museum
Wonderful experience, especially if you like Van Gogh art. Had to put a bag into lockers which were secure but guard insisted I put my travel bag with money, ID and Passport in as well and both myself and another lady refused to relinquish them! Saw many other ladies with larger purses/travel bags on them in the museum. Really nice gift shop but restrained myself!

Life and works of Van Gogh
Enjoyable couple of hours exploring the Van Gogh museum. Well worth getting the audio guide to listen to as you walk around. So many paintings of his to admire and really interesting to see how his unique style evolved. Our lovely sunflower cake in the cafe was a bonus!

Very enjoyable
If you like art then it is a must to go there. Book tickets before, selling out even in April. You can see not only Van Gogh works but also some of this fellows. Also gives a brief overview of his life. We enjoyed it. Also current exhibition of Kiefer works is impressive.

Van Gogh's life was tragic. This wonderful museum shares the tragedy of it alongside his art. It brings alive the person alongside the artist. Wonderful restaurant with polite, pleasant staff. A must see in Amsterdam.

Perfect display of art
Has an amazing display of pictures nicely organised to follow Van Goghs life. I particularly loved seeing his drawings for his designs for future pictures or on his letters to Theo, you really felt the love between two brothers. The atrium has more pictures and art displays of another artist who was influenced by Van Gogh. I loved seeing other artist work who were inspired by Van Gogh or who influenced Van Gogh

Joint exhibition
It’s pretty good. Lighting on the first floor makes it surprisingly hard to appreciate some of the pictures. Highlight actually was the joint exhibition of Keifer with the Stedelijk museum next door. Which was wonderful.

Loved seeing the artwork, however I do think the price is a little steep. Possibly smaller groups would also make the experience better. Still really enjoyed

Really enjoyed the museum. Van Gogh’s work is presented in the context of his artistic development and professional relationships and includes the works of other artists he learned from or worked alongside.

Amazing
The museum has an amazing array of Van Gogh's work. There are also works of his contemporaries. We learned a lot about Van Gogh and his family and friends. Well worth it.

Esperienza superlativa..c'è poco da dire.. è il Museo in cui sono situate la maggior parte delle opere di uno dei più grandi artisti di sempre.. bellissimo,emozionante.. attraverso i quadri in cui si autoritraeva si può quasi arrivare a capire il suo stato d'animo e conoscendo un po della sua storia o/e anche aiutandovi con l'audioguida potrete immergervi ancor di più nell'esperienza..(in la uso mi da.proprio fastidio) 🤣.. ovviamente da non perdere se si va ad Amsterdam...

Very well laid out museum. You must book your ticket and time slot in advance as it does sell out and get crowded. At the time we went they were doing a combo ticket with the museum next door.

Fraai museum.
Het museum is geopend in 1973. De verzameling omvat circa tweehonderd schilderijen vijfhonderd tekeningen van Van Gogh. Een aantal van de meest bekende werken hangen hier. Beslist een bezoek waard. Het is er bijna altijd zeer druk.

A must visit if you are in Amsterdam
This is really impressive - the scale of the collection is amazing and allows you to see the development of Van Gogh's style and life. Really well laid out and well worth a couple of hours of your time, even it like me you are not especially into art

Buy your ticket in advance
This is a very well organized museum. There is a limit for access and it makes it not too busy. The collection is great and it has also very interesting information about Vincent Van Gogh and his family. A must visit for every visitor to Amsterdam.

I highly recommend it
An incredibly moving and beautiful experience, though the lighting occasionally hindered the full appreciation of some artworks. I highly recommend taking a moment to listen to the audio recordings of the correspondences—they add a profound depth to the journey.

Much more than a few Van Goghs
Busier than the nearby Rijksmuseum when we went as everyone recognises one of his pictures as their favourite. Once you get passed the more famous pictures there are also other's which place Van Gogh's pictures in context of their production. It is on 4 floors so plenty of art objects to look at.

It’s a beautiful space to spend a few hours, and the artwork is absolutely captivating. The museum can get crowded, especially during peak hours, but it’s well worth the visit for anyone interested in the life and art of one of history’s most famous painters.

Interesting visit, worth the entrance hassle.
Entrance tickets for the museum are online only, which is a bit of a faff to buy standing outside with a mobile phone if you don’t book in advance. Once inside, however, it was ok. Crowded, even in late afternoon in February. Interesting insight into the life (and death) of the artist and plenty of paintings. Not as good value as the Rijksmuseum next door. It was our 4th favourite, behind the Anne Frank House and the Dutch Resistance museums.

I feel closer to the real Van Gogh
This is where you come to get to know and appreciate the real Van Gogh, his life story, how he learned to paint and what he enjoyed painting. You can get a headset or walk at your own pace. Two giftshops, toilets, a café, and I think I saw lockers? Plenty of young people with sketch pads which is nice to see.

My dream came true
The Van Gogh Museum was one of the highlights of my trip to Amsterdam! Seeing so many of Van Gogh’s works up close was amazing. The way the museum is organized takes you through his life and career, and it’s fascinating to see how his style evolved. I spent hours here, especially admiring some of his most famous paintings like 'The Starry Night' and 'Sunflowers.' The museum gets crowded, but it’s well worth a visit!
