Amsterdam Music Festival over the years

The first edition of the Amsterdam Music Festival was held in RAI Amsterdam in 2013 and was organized by ALDA Events and ID&T to celebrate the 25th anniversary of dance music in the Netherlands. This first edition attracted 25,000 people and the second edition 35,000. In 2015, there was a daily Amsterdam Music Festival at various locations in Amsterdam attracting three times as many people.

In 2016 the Amsterdam Music Festival organizers decided to expand the event to eight events on five evenings in three different venues: Amsterdam ArenA, Heineken Music Hall, and Ziggo Dome. With an opening night, a closing night and two ArenA shows, the fourth edition of the AMF was the biggest festival during the Amsterdam Dance Event.

From 2018, the event returned to a single location and a single night, the Johan Cruijff Arena. And so it shall be again this year, for the 12th edition of AMF. From 9 PM to 6AM, the home of football club Ajax will again be the place to be for the best EDM show in town.
